Romantic, Scenic, Contemporary American: Tuyo is Miami’s Culinary Destination
Tuyo is the crown-jewel restaurant gracing the top floor of Miami Dade College’s acclaimed Miami Culinary Institute (MCI).
Offering spectacular views of Downtown Miami in a luxurious setting, the upscale restaurant epitomizes modern dining with award-winning Contemporary American cuisine with an emphasis on fresh, quality ingredients.
Under the direction of Executive Chef Victor Santos, Tuyo focuses on environmentally sound practices that draw upon local fare and selections from MCI’s own organic garden, indulging guests with a world-class menu of classic dishes that have been elegantly reimagined.
The ever-evolving menu celebrates Latin, Caribbean, Asian, African and American flavors with delectable dishes that showcase the finest ingredients in enticing combinations. The Pan Roasted American Snapper served over coconut jasmine rice with a pineapple black bean salsa, is just one of Chef Santos’ seasonal favorites. “This is one of the signature items I often put back on the menu,” said Santos. “It’s a local fish paired with a lot of tropical flavors – the dish is very Miami.”
For a truly unique culinary experience, diners can select the tasting menu, which includes a collection of small portions of several dishes found on the seasonal dinner menu and optional wine pairing. Whether diners choose a single entrée or sample from the tasting menu, they can enhance their experience with the restaurant’s extensive wine list, which is thoughtfully chosen to compliment the inspired cuisine.
Equally impressive is Tuyo’s exquisite atmosphere. The panoramic vistas of the elegant dining room exalt the Miami skyline, Biscayne Bay and historic Freedom Tower, making sure diners are just as dazzled by their surroundings as they are by the cuisine.
Tuyo is a favorite dining spot among prominent Miami visitors and residents and the restaurant is regularly rated by Open Table diners as one of the city’s best restaurants for ambiance, scenic views, romantic appeal, service, cuisine and overall experience.
